As big as you think
Does the new state slogan measure up?
The state unveiled its new “brand image” last week, and based on traffic at the Journal-World’s Reader Reaction page, not all of you like it as much as officials thought you might.
“Kansas: As big as you think.”
It’s a reference to open minds and big ideas — a place where creative folks can flourish.
But it’s just not resonating with everyone. Aside from the cost of the campaign — a $1.7 million price tag troubles many Kansans who notice the Legislature is hesitant to adequately fund public education — the most common criticism among our readers seems to be this: “It’s lame.”
A few alternatives that popped up on our site were “Kansas: We’re in color now” or “Where rainbows meet prairies.”
But we want to hear your ideas.
