Law enforcement report

  • Police responded early Friday to a report that a 27-year-old man had been stabbed in the arm with a fork. The incident happened at 3:18 a.m. after a dispute at a gathering in the 1000 block of Maine Street. A 19-year-old Lawrence resident is the suspect, but the victim said he didn’t want to press charges.

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Lawrence Police caught suspects in two unrelated auto burglaries early Friday. In each case, a witness saw the burglary in progress and reported it to police.

In the first, about 3 a.m., police arrested two 19-year-olds on suspicion of stealing compact discs, a tennis racket, basketballs and other items from a vehicle in the 500 block of John Doy Court.

About 5:30 a.m., a 22-year-old Lawrence man was arrested on suspicion of stealing stereo equipment from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Michigan Street.
