The bride-to-be is a 1997 Baldwin High School graduate. She attended Johnson County Community College and Neosho County Community College. She is employed by Dr. Shelly McColm.

The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2002 graduate of Pittsburg State University. He is employed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

The couple plan a June 11 wedding at Worden United Methodist Church.

Oehlert-Elm

John and DeVonna Oehlert, Lawrence, and James and Delores Elm, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Jennifer G. Oehlert and Brian M. Elm, both of Lawrence.

The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is employed at Capitol Federal Savings Bank as a loan processor and closing assistant in the mortgage department.

The couple plan an April 9 wedding at Free Methodist Church in Lawrence.

Carnahan-Harbison

Christina Kelly Carnahan and John Michael Harbison, both of Dallas, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robert and Carol Carnahan, Lawrence. She is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a doctorate in pharmacy in 2002 at Purdue University. She is a staff pharmacist with Walgreens drug stores.

The future groom is the son of George and Carol Harbison, Hammond, Ind. He is a 1997 graduate of Munster High School, Munster, Ind. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in building construction management in 2001 at Purdue University. He is a project superintendent at Archer Wester Contractors.

The couple plan a May 21 wedding at Perkins Chapel in Dallas and a reception at Dallas World Aquarium.

Brockman-Eggers

Jeni Brockman, Lawrence, and Stephen Eggers, Eudora, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Larry Brockman, Lawrence, and the late Anita Brockman. She is a 1990 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture in 1998 from Kansas State University. She is a data technician for Fundamental Technologies in Lawrence.

The future groom is the son of John and Anne Eggers, Atchison. He is a 1986 graduate of Maur Hill-Mount Academy preparatory school in Atchison. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Kansas University in 1996. He graduated from Montessori Institute of Milwaukee in 2003 with an elementary Montessori teaching degree. He is employed at Amarr Garage Doors.

Allen Belot and Lydia Belot, Lawrence, and Michael and Anita Vail, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Lindsey Tate Belot and Nathan Lee Vail, both of Lawrence.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. She plans to graduate in May 2005 with a degree in elementary education from Baker University.

The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Free State High School. He earned an associate’s degree from Fort Scott Community College. He is employed with the Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical Department.

Nathan Vail and Lindsey Belot

Bill and Shirley Wheeler, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son, Scott Wheeler, to Sarah Barsalou, daughter of Paul and Gloria Barsalou, Bradenton, Fla.

The bride-to-be received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at the University of Central Florida. She works at Universal Studios Orlando.

The future groom received a Bachelor of Science degree at Kansas University. He received a master’s degree in exercise physiology at the University of Central Florida. He is an athletic trainer for Florida Hospital and oversees the contract with Disney.

The couple plan a Feb. 19 wedding in Bradenton, Fla.
