Washington ? Sen. Sam Brownback will travel later this week to Sri Lanka, India and possibly Indonesia to visit places devastated by the tsunami, his spokesman said late Tuesday.

Brownback, R-Kan., will help the Kansas City, Kan.-based group Heart to Heart International and other charities load a FedEx Corp. plane with supplies to aid in the recovery. Heart to Heart is known for shipping medical supplies to the needy.

His spokesman, Brian Hart, said Brownback would help load the plane in New York, then take a commercial flight to South Asia.

Brownback is scheduled to depart Friday from New York.
