All Lawrence Parks and Recreation facilities will close at 3:30 p.m. today as a result of winter weather. The centers also are scheduled to open late tomorrow.

The early closing will affect the following centers: Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th Street, Community Building, 115 W. 11th Street, and East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th Street. The Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, and Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper Street, will also close at 3:30 p.m. due to inclement weather.

Free play volleyball and basketball scheduled for tonight at Cordley Elementary School, 1837 Vermont St. and Deerfield Elementary School, 101 Lawrence Avenue, have been canceled. All aquatic fitness classes scheduled for Wednesday, have also been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

All facilities are tentatively scheduled to re-open at 12 p.m. tomorrow, weather permitting. Most facilities usually open at 7 a.m.
