Kris McNish, Lawrence, holds her son, Zackary, at Lawrence Memorial
Hospital where she received books from the Altrusa Club of
Lawrence. The club presented 1,200 books to LMH for new mothers.

new library at East Heights Early Childhood Family Center. The
Lawrence Schools Foundation obtained funding for the library with a
9,000 grant from the foundation.

during the drive, Oct. 8-10, at Dillons, Sixth Street and Lawrence
Avenue. Twenty percent of the money raised went to special Olympics
basketball in Hays and 80 percent was distributed to Cottonwood
Inc. and ARC of Douglas County. The Dillons employee at far left is
