Dennis and Judy Chadwick, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joyia Chadwick, Williamstown, Mass., to Brent Yorgey, Washington, D.C., son of Rick and Debbie Yorgey, Washington, D.C.

The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. She plans to graduate in June from Williams College, Williamstown, Mass., with a degree in math and then pursue graduate school this fall in foreign policy.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Terry and Melody Hoffsommer, Overbrook. She is a graduate of Pomona High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in English and physical education at Emporia State University. She is a graduate assistant and assistant volleyball coach at Fort Hays State University.

The future groom is the son of Patricia Cluthe, Houston, and the late Peter Cluthe. He received a bachelor’s degree in English and political science at Kansas University. He is employed as a general manager with WKRP LLC, a franchisee of Pizza Hut International.

The future groom is a graduate of Olathe South High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Emporia State University. He is working on a master’s degree in business administration from Baker University. He is a surgical nurse at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
