Sooners get riled, clip KSU

? When Kansas State did a little extra shoving, Oklahoma pushed back and got the win.

Dionnah Jackson scored 18 points, Laura Andrews added 15 — all in the second half — and the Sooners responded to a Kansas State player’s push in the back by rushing away with a 77-61 victory Sunday.

Claire Coggins made two free throws with 17:17 to play to bring the 16th-ranked Wildcats (17-5, 8-3 Big 12) within 44-37, but she riled Oklahoma (13-9, 5-6) in the process. After Lauren Shoush fouled Coggins on a fast-break layup try, Coggins shoved Shoush in the back, but no foul was called.

After Coggins hit her foul shots, Andrews drilled a three-pointer from the left wing, Jackson scored on a fastbreak, and Erin Higgins hit a three-pointer that bounced twice on the rim and banked off the backboard before falling in.

After the confrontation, Oklahoma’s players didn’t say anything.

“I think we read each other’s minds like, ‘No, not in our house,”‘ Jackson said. “We don’t let that happen to one of our teammates.”
