The division that oversees Lawrence’s newest bioscience production plant is now operating with a new leadership team.

Atlanta-based Serologicals Corp. announced Thursday that it had appointed eight vice presidents and directors to lead its newest division, Celliance, which includes the $28 million production plant in Lawrence’s East Hills Business Park.

All of the new leaders come from existing jobs at Serologicals, most at company headquarters.

They join a division created in November to oversee contract research services and handle the company’s own expanding research, development, manufacturing and commercialization of cell culture supplements and diagnostic products.

The Lawrence production plant is poised to be the company’s biggest producer of Ex-Cyte, a liquid derived from serum that has been drawn from slaughtered cattle and then transformed into material used to speed the growth of cells for use in researching and creating drugs.

The Lawrence plant, with 26 full-time employees, is on track to be cleared for full construction by June, said Bill Davis, a Serologicals spokesman.

Overall, Celliance controls more than 300 employees in six locations, including Lawrence. The others are in Kankakee, Ill.; Milford, Mass.; Morgan Hill, Calif.; Toronto, Ontario; and Livingston, Scotland.

David Bellitt, Celliance president, announced the following appointments Thursday: Joe Kozma, vice president of sales; Craig Brown, vice president and controller; Rick Srigley, vice president of contract services; Chris Simonsen, vice president of research and development; and Jim Kramer, acting vice president for operations.

Also appointed: Diane Miller, executive director for human resources; Attilio Baldassi, marketing director; and Wayne Vaz, director for business development and strategic planning.
