Ralph Bert Rector, Leavenworth

? Services for Ralph Bert Rector, 76, Leavenworth, will be at 10 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Leavenworth. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Rector died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, in Leavenworth.

He was born March 19, 1928, in El Dorado, the son of John Bert and Irene Cecil Rector. He graduated from Rosalia High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Kansas State University in 1952, and returned for his master’s in 1971. He moved to Leavenworth in 1956.

Mr. Rector served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He became a 4-H Club Agent in 1956 with the Kansas State Extension Service and served in Leavenworth County for 28 years. He retired in 1984. He formed Rector Farm Data after he retired. He was a member of Epsilon Sigma Phi, a national honorary extension fraternity, and Leavenworth Lions Club, where he was president from 1975 to 1976. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Leavenworth.

He married Twila Oltjen on July 19, 1953, in Robinson. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Lansing; two sons, David, Richland, Wash., and Steven, Wichita; and two grandchildren.
