Freshman Moore lifts Ottawa boys
Ottawa ? In only his second varsity game, freshman Chase Moore came off the bench to score 20 points, leading Ottawa to a 73-53 high school boys basketball victory over Louisburg on Friday.
Moore was 5-for-5 on three-point attempts and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Ottawa coach David Grover said he might have found a new perimeter scoring threat in Moore.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Grover said. “He wasn’t on the 15-deep depth chart three days ago.”
The game was tied at halftime before Ottawa jumped to a 10-point lead going into the fourth quarter. Moore was helped by Victor Ojeleye, who chipped in 19 points.
Ottawa (7-7) will play Gardner-Edgerton on Tuesday.
