KU track and field headed to Nebraska

Kansas University’s track and field teams will face their toughest test of the indoor season this weekend at the Husker Invitational.

“We’ll face competition like we would face in the NCAA championships,” KU coach Stanley Redwine said. “We have to be prepared physically and mentally this weekend.”

Among the schools scheduled to send competitors are Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee and Washington State. Big 12 Conference schools expected in addition to the Jayhawks and host Nebraska are Baylor, Colorado, Kansas State and Oklahoma State.

Competition will begin at 1 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Saturday at Devaney Center which also will be the site of the Big 12 Indoor championships Feb. 25-26.
