Old home town – 100 years ago today

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 22, 1905: “Last night’s snow was just, clearly, what Santa Claus was looking for. He has been living so long in his cozy ice lands of the north that he does not like to make visits to other places when it is not cold. He visited many stores here to buy his presents and he will return Sunday night and fill the stockings of good little boys and girls. : We are blessed with this season of peace on earth and good will to men. Almost everybody is preparing to give good gifts to loved ones. This is the one great time of all the year when the joy of giving ripens and yields its full fruition.”
