Seahawk boys sputter in loss

? Seabury went cold in the second half, and it cost the Seahawks in a 42-31 high school boys basketball loss Friday night against Englewood Christian.

Down by eight points, Seabury made seven consecutive defensive stops to open the fourth quarter, but went 0-for-7 from the field. Seabury scored just 10 points in the second half.

“In the third and fourth quarters, they switched to a zone,” Seabury coach Marcus Heckman said. “They were really forcing us to take outside shots, and we weren’t making them.”

Adam Davis scored 18 points for Seabury, but was one of just three Seahawks to score. Grayson Dillon added 11 points, and Paul Bireta scored two. Seabury’s Max Cannon, who was averaging nine points per game, missed the contest because of illness.

The Seahawks (3-2) are off until Jan. 3, when they will entertain Colony-Crest.
