A special year-end fundraising challenge has been made to the Lawrence Chamber Orchestra by a Lawrence resident.

William Dann, a longtime contributor and spring 2005 concert sponsor, will match contributions made to LCO by Dec. 30 up to a total of $5,000.

The contributions will help fund the orchestra’s Baroque by Candlelight concert in February and the Spring Celebration concert in April, which will feature finalists from LCO’s Young Musician Competition, sponsored by the Steven Paul Wunsch Foundation for Young Musicians.

Contributions can be made at the “‘Twas the Night Before the Night Before” concert Dec. 23 at the Lawrence Arts Center, and they also may be mailed to Lawrence Chamber Orchestra, c/o Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H., Lawrence 66044.

Contributions may have additional tax benefits to donors from federal tax provisions made in 2005 in the aftermath of the hurricane disasters.
