Pomona water deemed safe after line break

Residents of Pomona in Franklin County no longer need to boil their drinking water.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Friday lifted its precautionary advisory issued Thursday after a water main broke. The city’s water supply, which serves 952 customers, had lost water pressure and about 100,000 gallons of water after the main broke.

The system has been repaired, and water samples revealed no evidence of bacteria in the system, according to the KDHE.
