To the editor:

I appreciated Dave Ranney’s feature article on the excellent music programs in the Lawrence school district. The superb instructors are long overdue for recognition. They do teach some very talented students, but they manage to bring the best out in all students. I would thank individual teachers, especially at Lawrence High School, South Junior High School and Schwegler School, but the fine arts staff in all the district’s schools are talented, dedicated and very concerned with their students.

The success of the students on the state level is no accident. Much gratitude to all those who have taught my children in the past 25 years for instilling in them a lifelong love of music, both choral and instrumental.
