Ex-Jayhawk Graves arrested for marijuana

Former Kansas University basketball player Jeff Graves was arrested early Monday in Lee’s Summit, Mo., on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

According to Lee’s Summit police spokesman Mike Childs, the department’s special-investigations unit arrested Graves about 8 a.m. Monday at his parents’ home in Lee’s Summit.

Childs said the unit served a warrant based on information from an ongoing investigation.

He said generally the unit responded to anonymous tips on criminal activity but could not confirm whether an anonymous tip led to Graves’ arrest.

Childs said Graves was booked about 8:50 a.m. and released at 12:15 p.m. after posting a $600 bond. Childs said the case would go through Lee’s Summit Municipal Court, where Graves is due to appear Oct. 13.
