The Kansas University Medical Center is organizing a group to combat the state's projected shortage of doctors in the next 15 to 35 years.
The group will meet for the first time today. It will work to research the projected shortage of physicians and develop recommendations for increasing the number.
The board will include representatives from the Kansas Medical Society, the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians, the Kansas Hospital Assn., the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Medical Society of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties.
