Lawrence splashed by few raindrops

Lawrence was a little damp and cool this morning as light showers and a few rumbles of thunder passed through, said Tim Reith, 6News meteorologist.

“Unfortunately we missed out on the bulk of the rainfall with this latest front,” Reith said.

At 8:30 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport had recorded 0.03 of an inch of rain The temperature was 66, humidity was 78 percent, and winds were variable, about 5 mph

Reith said the light rainfall would end this morning and most of the clouds would dissipate by the afternoon.

“I think by the end of the day, we should see some sunshine,” he said. Today’s high temperature will get up to about 85 by late afternoon, he said. And it will be cool tonight.

“Open up the windows and turn off the air conditioning,” Reith said. The temperature will fall to a low of 61 by early Saturday morning.

Saturday’s high climb to 89 degrees, with partly cloudy skies.

Sunday’s morning low will be 66, with Sunday’s high reaching 91 degrees, under a few clouds.
