Clinton Eagles 4-H Club met March 7 at Wakarusa Valley School. Haven Bouton presided during the meeting.

Katie Gaston called roll, which members answered by naming something green that they liked. Lindsey Fangman and Kasey Waite led the group in singing. The minutes from the February meeting were read and approved. County Council representatives gave a talk on county camp.

Kirstyn Heine gave the treasurer’s report. Simon Fangman gave the reporter’s report. Marilyn Colgan gave a parliamentarian lesson on what to do when the president recognizes you.

Morgan Mangor, historian, gave a report on the club’s scrapbook. Danielle Hodges announced the recreation game would be silent ball. Lanaea Heine gave the leader’s report and handed out ribbons to members who earned them during Regional 4-H Day.

Dea Lieber announced a gravy-making lesson would be April 2 at her house. The swap meet will be May 7-8. Luke Wempe gave a talk on livestock judging. Katie Jones gave a talk on the Kansas University Engineering Expo.

Refreshments were provided by the Barnes-Harrell, Garzillo, Welsh and Robbins families.

Lone Star 4-H Club met March 14 at the Lone Star Church. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite shade of green.

Members who participated in Regional 4-H Day were recognized.

It was announced that the club would need to send one adult and one junior counselor for every seven campers who attend summer camp at Rock Springs 4-H Center.

The Douglas County 4-H Council will be serving food at the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen on April 30. Members will be asked to volunteer to bring food items at the April meeting.

Orders for “100 years of 4-H in Kansas” apparel are due to the Extension office by April 18. There will be a county meeting for club historians at 5 p.m. April 18 at the Extension office, 2110 Harper St. They will work on the county Centennial scrapbook.

The next meeting will be Monday at the church.

The Douglas County Family and Education Council will sponsor its annual spring tea at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Building 21 North at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The program will be “Gift Box Treasures” by Lori A. Dalrymple.
