Wayne D. Bradley, Louisburg

? A remembrance for Dr. Wayne D. Bradley, 74, Wayzata, Minn., and Louisburg, Kan., will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Saddle & Sirloin Club in Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan.

Mr. Bradley died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Wayzata.

He was born July, 5, 1930, in Blue Mound, Kan., the son of Aubrey J. and Neta Bernice Davis Bradley. He attended schools in Blue Mound and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1948. He received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in 1952 and doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1956.

Mr. Bradley served in the U.S. Air Force. He practiced veterinary medicine in Chicago, Lexington, Mass., the Kansas City area with the USDA and established Leawood Animal Hospital, where he had a small animal practice for 29 years. He joined the Kansas State University faculty as a part-time assistant professor in 1976. He authored a chapter in the book “Canine Medicine.” He served as area director of the American Animal Hospital Assn. and as a director of Missouri Veterinarian Medical Assn. for several years.

He received the Veterinarian of the Year Award from the Kansas City VMA three years in a row. He also received the Missouri Veterinarian of the Year Award. He was active within the American VMA and Kansas VMA. He also received the KSU Alumni Recognition Award for outstanding achievements in his profession.

Mr. Bradley was a Melvin Jones Fellow of Lions International and a member of Wayzata Lions Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a 50-year member of Lotus Masonic Lodge in Blue Mound and Valley of Fort Scott Scottish Rite. He also was a member of the Saddle & Sirloin Club of Kansas City, Mo.

He married Renea Henrich. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, David, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Veronica Bradley, Wayzata, and Jennifer Bradley, Chapel Hill, N.C.; a sister, Idabelle, Houston; and two brothers, Aubrey, Wichita, Kan., and Keith, Lenexa, Kan.
