The Mid-America Business Conditions Survey of supply managers and business leaders in Kansas dropped to 65.6 in March, down from February’s regional high of 70.6 but still “consistent with strong growth during the next two quarters,” according to the report.

A reading above 50 on the index indicates growth, while a reading below 50 means manufacturing activity is slowing.

Components of the business conditions index for March: new orders, 75; production, 71.9; delivery speed, 46.9; inventories, 43.8; and employment, 68.8.
