Harold L. Crady

Services for Harold L. Crady, 80, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Crady died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1924, in Lecompton, the son of Louis Wesley and Margaret Alice Hemphill Crady.

Mr. Crady served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in World War II. His tours of duty included New Guinea and the southern Philippines. He worked for Theodore Poehler Wholesale Grocery Co. for 10 years. In 1958 he went to work for Hallmark Cards and retired from there in 1987.

He attended Indian Hills Church of God.

He married Helen Delene Banks on March 5, 1943, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Hal, Lawrence, and Ron, Shawnee; two daughters, Joyce Crady Curry, Eudora, and Janet Crady, Erie; a sister, Betty Stauffer, Lawrence; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. or the American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
