Ida Norine Solsbery

Services for Ida Norine Solsbery, 87, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Vermont Towers.

Miss Solsbery died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at Presbyterian Manor.

She was born March 30, 1917, in San Saba County, Texas, the daughter of Alanzo and Etta Jane Samford Solsbery. She graduated from Tahoka High School in Texas. She moved to Lubbock, Texas, in 1940, and moved to Lawrence in 1984, where she resided at Vermont Towers.

Miss Solsbery worked as a housekeeper and nanny in Lubbock. She served as treasurer of the Council at Vermont Towers. She was an active member of Southside Church of Christ, where she participated in a Bible study group. She volunteered at Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen, Alpha Children’s Home and ECKAN.

Survivors include an adopted daughter Kaye Moeser, Lawrence; two sisters, Norma Reed, Turlock, Calif., and Kelsie Heaslet, Paradise, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
