Several people were injured this afternoon in a three-vehicle accident on the Kansas Turnpike near the Eastern Terminal in Leavenworth County.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 have been reopened for traffic. They were closed until late this afternoon from just west of the terminal after the accident occurred at 12:45 p.m., Kansas Turnpike Authority dispatchers said.

Dispatchers said four or five people had been injured in the accident. No other information was available. The accident scene was about 12 miles east of Lawrence.
