Police investigate note that refers to Taliban

A concerned person called police Tuesday after discovering a suspicious note in an ashtray that praised Allah and made reference to the Taliban being victorious.

The note, found by a pharmaceutical-company employee outside an office complex at 3320 Clinton Parkway Court, also said something about the people of Iraq being victorious, said Sgt. Dan Ward, a Lawrence Police spokesman. But the note didn’t make any specific threats, he said.

Police came to the scene and asked about the note, but they aren’t investigating it as a crime.
