Big KU football gift might be forthcoming

Kansas University athletic department officials are expected to announce a large pledge — perhaps as big as $20 million — earmarked for the KU football program, sources told the Journal-World.

KU officials have been working for several years with Houston oil man Bud Adams on the gift, which would be used to build a football complex at the south end of Memorial Stadium and other football-related projects.

Adams is a KU graduate and owner of the Tennessee Titans.
