Retain Martin group files finance report

The group fighting to keep Douglas County District Court Judge Paula Martin on the bench has reported spending $1,564 on her behalf.

The Retain Judge Martin Committee raised $2,280 and had $716 cash on hand, according to campaign finance reports filed Monday.

Among donations, the committee received $500 from Lil Martin of Abilene, who is the judge’s mother; $250 from the law office of Michael Clark; $150 from Michael Well, a physician; and $100 each from Barbara Carswell, a banker, and Isobel Falkenstien, a retiree.

A finance report from the Justice for Children Committee, which seeks to unseat the judge, was not available Monday.
