Home team requests patience from fans

? Fans should allow some extra time to pass through security before the World Series games at Busch Stadium, the St. Louis Cardinals organization said Monday.

Gates will open at 5 p.m., and the first pitch will be at approximately 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday and, if Game Five is played, Thursday.

The Boston Red Sox lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 heading into tonight’s game.

World Series attendees will be subject to a visual coat inspection and selective wanding, the Cardinals said. Fans can bring backpacks, purses, diaper bags, fanny packs and soft-sided coolers that are not larger than 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches.

Alcohol, bottles, cans, thermoses, hard-sided coolers and hard plastic cups are not allowed.

The Cardinals asked fans to drink responsibly and refrain from disruptive behavior.
