Gray skies moving in

More cool, sunny weather is expected through the morning. But clouds will be increasing this afternoon, bringing mostly gray skies and chances for rain through the rest of the work week, says Jennifter Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“We do have plenty of sun to start out today, but clouds will be arriving later,” Schack said. “It looks like kind of a damp and dreary day tomorrow.”

Temperatures were starting out today in the upper 40s this morning, with northwest winds 6 mph. Temperatures were expected to rise to 63 by noon, with the high reaching 69 by late afternoon.

The overnight low will fall to 54 by early Tuesday morning. Tuesday’s high will be 67 under increasingly cloudy skies.

The National Weather Service says there’s a 30 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms overnight after 1 a.m. The chance for showers and thunderstorms increases to 50 percent on Tuesday and then falls to 30 percent Tuesday night and Wednesday.

The chance for rain continues through Friday, with a 20 percent chance on Wednesday night and Thursday, a 30 percent chance on Thursday night and a 20 percent chance on Friday.

High daytime temperatures this week will be in the 70s, with the overnight lows dipping into the upper 40s and low 50s.
