Sheila Partridge, a 2001 Tonganoxie High School graduate, has been selected to serve as news director for the campus radio station at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. She is the daughter of John and Marlene Partridge, Leavenworth.

Jed Borovik, Southwest Junior High School seventh-grader, finished first in the K-12 division and Lucas Suchy, Wakarusa Valley School fourth-grader, finished first in the K-6 division at the Washburn Rural High School Chess Tournament on Oct. 16.

A SWJHS team placed second in the K-12 division. Lawrence schools swept the K-6 division with Quail Run School claiming first, Wakarusa Valley placing second, and Cordley School winning third place.

Sarah Dinsdale will perform with the Sterling College Symphonic Band during its fall concert on Tuesday. Dinsdale is the daughter of Robert and Katherine Dinsdale, Lawrence.

Jeff and Jody Gregory, Eudora, announce the birth of their son, Branden Joseph, born on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park. He has an older sister, Samantha, 3.
