The Lone Star 4-H Club met Oct. 11 at Lone Star Church. Members answered roll call by telling what they will wear for Halloween.

The community leader report included information about the new system for re-enrolling for the upcoming 4-H year, project leader changes, county achievement celebration and club achievement.

A training session for junior and senior officers will be Nov. 11 in Building 21 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The club discussed the club trip. It also approved new standing rules, new scholarship requirements and a budget for 2004-05. The club will adopt families for Thanksgiving and Christmas and will make a donation to the 4-H Foundation.

The club installed new officers. A presentation about Citizenship Washington Focus was given. Extension agent Kim Davis lead the club in playing “Jeopardy.”

The club achievement meeting and dinner will be 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Lone Star Church.

The Meadowlark 4-H Club met Oct. 12 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The members had a pizza party and made tray favors for Meals on Wheels. Kyle Morgison, vice president, called the meeting to order. Members answered roll call by saying what they would wear for Halloween. Shelby Miller led the club in singing “Happy Birthday” to members who celebrated October birthdays.

Kay Miller gave the leaders report. She reminded members about the achievement celebration on Nov. 7. She thanked members who participated in National 4-H week.

Officers for the 2004-2005 year are: Margaret Pendleton, president; Derby Miller, junior president; Kyle Morgison, vice president; Jamie Morgison, secretary; Amelia Magerl, treasurer; Miranda Pratt, junior treasurer; Shelby Miller, reporter; and Will Pendleton, parliamentarian.

The next meeting will be Nov. 9 at the fairgrounds. Members will meet at 6:30 p.m. to make tray favors for Meals on Wheels and have pizza to celebrate the club’s achievements. The photography members will provide the program. Hosts will be the Parents Advisory Committee.
