Shawnee ? Free State High’s volleyball team went 0-3 at a Shawnee Mission Northwest quad on Friday.

FSHS fell to St. Theresa’s, 14-25, 14-25; Shawnee Heights, 12-25, 25-18, 23-25, and SM Northwest, 22-25, 25-23, 24-26.

“I knew it’d be a tough quad, because all three teams were very good teams and we’d lost to Shawnee Mission Northwest last week,” Firebirds coach Nancy Hopkins said. “We had opportunities to pull ahead and just didn’t play very well.”

Free State (20-9) will travel Saturday to the Emporia Invitational.
