The game: Resseguie rushed 17 times for 98 yards and a touchdown Friday in Free State's 31-11 victory over Olathe Northwest. The senior also had three tackles, including one for loss.

Coach's comments: "Jamie always plays hard," said Free State coach Bob Lisher, whose team snapped a five-game losing streak. "He ran hard, blocked hard and played excellent defense. He's our emotional leader. He's an intense young man."


Neil Erisman

De Soto

HT: 5-8

Position: QB-DB

The game: Erisman rushed for 194 yards and passed for 48 more -- including an 11-yard touchdown pass -- in De Soto's 12-7 victory over Eudora. Erisman also intercepted passes on each of Eudora's final two drives, helping the Wildcats (5-1) clinch a share of the Frontier League title.
