— Kansas University's volleyball squad absorbed its fifth straight loss Saturday, falling 3-0 to Colorado at Coors Events Center.

The Buffaloes stomped to a 30-23 victory in the first game and never let the Jayhawks rally, winning the next two games, 30-22, 30-21.

The Jayhawks (10-6 overall, 1-6 Big 12 Conference) had just 35 kills on the night to Colorado's 54, and KU's hitting percentage of .114 was paltry compared to CU's .293.

Freshman Emily Brown, a Baldwin native, led the Jayhawks with nine kills. Senior Ashley Michaels added seven, and junior Josi Lima had six kills and seven digs. Senior Jill Dorsey led KU with nine digs.

Michaels and junior Andi Rozum each added a service ace for the Jayhawks.

Maragda Santillana and Austin Zimmerman each had 13 kills to lead CU (10-5, 5-3).

Buffs standout Ashley Nu'u recorded her 1,000th career assist.

The Jayhawks will travel Wednesday to Iowa State.
