Charles Lee Beeson

? An open house for Charles Lee Beeson, 63, Perry, will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 1836 U.S. Highway 59 in Perry.

Mr. Beeson died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Coffeyville, the son of Kenneth and Anna Beeson. He graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1959 and from Independence Community College in 1961. He received a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from Kansas State University in 1966.

Mr. Beeson worked for DuPont starting in 1966 at its Savannah River plant in Aiken, S.C. He transferred in 1973 to the company’s Tecumseh plant outside Topeka and in 1986 to its Richmond, Va., plant. He retired in 1996 and moved to Perry.

He married Karen S. King on May 26, 1960. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, David C. and Samuel D., both of Lawrence; a daughter, Debra M. Beeson-Clarke, Perry; two sisters, Dee Kellenberger, Jetmore, and Norma Hines, Mound Valley; and five grandchildren.
