The Lawrence Sesquicentennial Commission commends The World Company for its consistent coverage of activities related to Lawrence’s first 150 years.

We especially want to thank the Journal-World for the three special sections in the Sunday papers of Sept. 19 and 26 and Oct. 3. These commemorative editions will surely be saved by many people in the community.

Sunflower Broadband’s 6News has provided the community with great coverage of sesquicentennial events.

The photography staff of the Journal-World has created a sesquicentennial photo album that will be a treasure in years to come. The reporting staff has been at every event, reliably relating information to the public. The editorial staff has written many kind and supportive words, which we truly appreciate.
