Ruby Wright

Baldwin ? Graveside services for Ruby Wright, 95, Prescott, will be at 2 p.m. today in Oak Wood Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mrs. Wright died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Country View Nursing Home in Prescott.

She was born July 20, 1909, in Randolph County, N.C., the daughter of Ivy M. and Maggie Leach Robbins. She was a former resident of Baldwin and later moved to rural Prescott. She eventually moved to Prescott Country View Nursing Home.

Mrs. Wright was a member of United Methodist Church in Baldwin. She worked as a cook at Baker University and also owned and operated a filling station.

She married Wilbur Martin Wright on Aug. 17, 1927, in Olathe. He died Dec. 30, 1978.

A son, Richard Wright, and a daughter, Shirley Wright, died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Eberhart, Lawrence, and Margaret Gabbert, Prescott; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the nursing home activity fund or Alzheimer’s Foundation, sent in care of Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, 319 Chestnut P.O. Box J, Mound City 66056.
