Willa Deanne Mills Eyestone

? Services for Willa Deanne Mills Eyestone, 76, Manhattan, will be at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Manhattan. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan.

Mrs. Eyestone died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at her home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Lansing, the daughter of William Carl and Helen Lambert Mills. She graduated from Lansing High School in 1946. She attended Kansas State University for two years, and later returned to receive her bachelor’s degree in home economics in 1978.

Mrs. Eyestone was a member of Clovia 4-H Scholarship House in college and later served as an alumni adviser for 10 years. She was a homemaker and a 4-H leader for Lee Hilltoppers Club for 15 years.

She married Merle L. Eyestone on June 26, 1948, in Lansing. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Keith Eyestone, Manhattan, Daniel Eyestone, Great Bend, and Richard Eyestone, Junction City; a daughter, Gail Eyestone, Manhattan; a sister, Emma Jeanne Liggett, Crystal River, Fla.; a brother, Lambert Mills, Crystal River; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Kansas 4-H Foundation for Clovia Scholarship House or to the church foundation, sent in care of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home, 1317 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan 66502.
