The Lawrence Mentor’s Duplicate Bridge Club met Sept. 22. Six pairs competed in a game that followed a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the play.

Harriett Olson and Artie Shaw claimed first place. Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman took second place.

The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club met Sept. 24. Seven tables participated in a stratified game that followed a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Playing North-South, Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough finished first in A. Patt Radford and Betty Collier placed second. Harry Shaffer and Lois Clark were third. Virginia Eddy and Shirlie Vaughn took first in B. Harriett Olson and Grant Sutton finished first in C.

Competing East-West, Don Daugherty and Harry Talley swept first place in A, B and C. Kit Carson and Ilse Steinhardt claimed second in A, B and C. Virginia Seaver and Don Brennaman were third in A.

Playing North-South, Lynn Hui and Russ LaForce swept first place in A, B and C. Patt Radford and Jerry Sloan finished second in A. Virginia Seaver and Klee Zaricky were third. James Zhang and Harry Shaffer took fourth. Virginia Eddy and Phyllis Brownlee were second in B and C.

Sitting East-West, Lois Jones and Jeff Nash finished first in A. Cathy Blumenfeld and Mike Blumenfeld took second in A and first in B and C. Julia Brooks and Lester Dalton placed third in A. Yvonne Hedges and Chuck Hedges placed fourth in A and second in B. Lois Clark and Don Brennaman were second in C.

University Bridge Club announces the winners of its Sept. 25 game. Hosts were Marian Davis, Virginia Williams, George Bocquin and Aileen Bocquin.

Blue winners were: Dale Kring, first; Al Smith, second; Harold Riehm, third; Paul Jordan, fourth; and Bud Lukens, fifth.

Pink winners were: Edna Galle, first; Carolyn Jordan, second; Lois Liebert, third; Jean Khatib, fourth; and Donna Riehm, fifth.
