Derwent Jess Graham

? Services for Derwent Jess Graham, 73, McLouth, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery.

Mr. Graham died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at a Kansas City, Kan., hospital of a heart condition.

He was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Reno, the son of Jesse Robert and Lillie Agnes Marchion Graham. He moved from Kansas City, Kan., to rural McLouth in 1971.

Mr. Graham retired from Cummings Diesel Services in Kansas City, Mo., where he was a diesel mechanic. He had worked for Graham Shipping and Associated Wholesale Grocers, both in Kansas City, Kan.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Korea from 1956 to 1958. He was a member of American Legion Post 400 in Topeka. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Topeka and was a bi-member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lawrence and Oskaloosa.

He married Mary Jane Strong on June 23, 1953, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Kathy Green, Leavenworth; two sisters, Theo Puckett, Lawrence, and Vera Gallon, Liberty, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
