Flannery services

Mass of Christian Burial for Larry S. Flannery, 62, Paola, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Flannery died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Medicalodge in Paola.

He was born Jan. 20, 1942, in Hastings, Neb., the son of Lawrence S. Sr. and Dorothy Baird Flannery. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1960 and attended Benedictine College in Atchison.

Mr. Flannery had been a sales associate with JC Penney of Kansas City, Mo., and Weaver’s Department Store in Lawrence. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Zinkgraf, West Lakeland, Minn.; his mother, Lawrence; his stepmother, Monte E. Flannery, Lawrence; two brothers, Bob, Carbondale, Ill., and Joe, Lawrence; three stepsisters, Lee Henry, Olathe, and Sue Hopkins and Gay Schneider, both of Lawrence; and two grandchildren.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, after which family will receive friends until 8:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence High School Alumni Assn. or Medicalodge, sent in care of the mortuary.
