Menke-LaBarge

Steve and Barb Menke, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter Sarah Menke, Shawnee, to Brandon LaBarge, Overland Park, son of Joann LaBarge, Overland Park, and the late Pat LaBarge.

The future bride is a 1996 graduate of Great Bend High School. She is a 2000 graduate of Kansas University’s School of Education. She is a fifth-grade teacher at Union Chapel Elementary School in the Park Hill, Mo., school district.

The future groom is a 1995 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Overland Park. He is a 1999 graduate of KU’s School of Business. He is employed at the home office of H&R Block.

The couple plan a July 9 wedding at Cure of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood.

Jon and Joyce Hawkins, Baldwin, announce the engagement of their daughter, Janel Louise Hawkins, to Joshua Allen Pruitt, son of David and Pam Pruitt, Gray, Tenn.

The future bride graduated from Bob Jones University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She is teaching first and second grades at Grace Christian School in Newport, Tenn.

The future groom graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports medicine. He attends Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tenn.

The couple plan a June 25 wedding at Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, Tenn.

Marieke Beth Burt and Jeremy Allan Goates, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Norman and Deb Burt, Salina, and Ken and Susan Lee, Salina. She is a graduate of Salina Central High School and Kansas University. She works at Children’s Learning Center.

The future groom is the son of Jack and Joyce Goates, Salina. He is a graduate of Salina Central High School and KU. He works at TherapyWorks.

The couple plan a July 10 wedding at Central United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
