Area roundup: Eudora softball rolls, 7-0
De Soto ? Kelly Spence allowed three hits in six innings, and Eudora rolled past West Franklin, 7-0, Monday in Class 4A regional softball.
Spence (17-2) struck out six in the first-round game for Eudora (18-3).
Kayla Moyer had three hits, including a triple, and drove in four of the Cardinals’ seven runs. Kelsey Epperson also had a triple among her two hits and drove in a pair of runs.
Eudora will play Kansas City Ward in the semifinals at 4:45 p.m. today with the championship game to follow. Ward advanced with a 3-1 victory over Tonganoxie.

De Soto (8-11) will face Kansas City Sumner at 4:45 p.m. in the semifinals. Sumner advanced with a 5-4 victory over Basehor-Linwood.

Garnett — Baldwin freshman Courtney Johnson struck out seven batters in a Class 4A regional opener, but Prairie View scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the 12th to eliminate the Bulldogs (7-14).

Santa Fe Trail will play Fort Scott on Wednesday in the second round of regionals.
