A windy warm day is in store for Lawrence today, with a chance for severe thunderstorms tonight.
"Late tonight we'll see our best chance of storms, " said Matt Jacobs, 6News meteorologist. The chance for rain during the evening is between 40 and 60 percent, with the greatest chance after 6 p.m.
This morning, a few showers were moving in to the Lawrence area from the south and west, bringing a possible sprinkle between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., he said. Temperatures were in the upper 60s under cloudy skies by 7:30 a.m.
Today's high will be 82, with winds 10 to 20 mph. The low overnight will be 66, with storms possible during the overnight hours.
Jacobs said the forecast shows a stormy week is ahead. More storms are in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday and Saturday also have the possibility of strong storms, he said.
