Oyler-Willems

Jessica Oyler and J.J. Willems, both of Lawrence, were married June 14, 2003, at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship in Lawrence with the Rev. Pieter Willems officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Caryn Oyler, Lawrence, and Julie and Ric Lonsinger, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Pieter and Alice Willems, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Jocilyn Oyler Vermooten. Best man was Peter Wentz. Bridesmaids were Elisa Brooks, Melissa Ingalls, Kelsey Oyler, Kimberly Oyler, Adrienne Willems and Hannah Willems. Groomsmen were Chris Beshears, Eli Brooks, Michael Ingalls, David Torkelson, David Vermooten and Isaac Willems. Flower girls were Laura Oyler and Lynne Oyler. Ushers were David Dreyfus and Ethan Clewell.

A reception followed the ceremony at the church.

The bride was home-schooled through high school, graduating in 1998. She graduated from Kansas University in 2003 with a degree in Middle Eastern studies and a minor in African studies. She is employed at Douglas County Bank.

The groom was home-schooled through high school, graduating in 1998. He studied music at a university in Oregon. He returned to Lawrence to study and become licensed as a journeyman electrician. He is employed by Kansas Electric.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Brooks-Ingalls

Melissa Beth Brooks, Lawrence, and Michael Alan Ingalls, Yuma, Colo., were married July 26, 2003, at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship in Lawrence with the Rev. Paul Taylor officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rob and Robin Brooks, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Bob and Barb Ingalls, Yuma, Colo.

Matron of honor was Jessica McClung. Best man was Chris Ingalls. Bridesmaids were Jessica Willems, Jocilyn Oyler, Elisa Brooks, Hilary Getz and Brooke Saeyert. Groomsmen were Adam Armstrong, Aaron Seedorf, Sean Grube, Greg Nadvornik and Eli Brooks. Ring bearer was Seth Brooks, Flower girls were Joy Brooks and Michaelah Ingalls. Ushers were Ezra Brooks, David Taylor and Chad Carson.

A reception followed the ceremony at the church.

The bride was home-schooled and attended Lawrence High School part-time, graduating in 1996. She graduated from Kansas University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and English. She is an administrative assistant at Douglas County Bank.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of Yuma High School, Yuma, Colo. He received a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering in 1999 and a master’s degree in civil engineering in 2001 from KU. He works for the Kansas Department of Transportation as a bridge design engineer.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Denny-Sink

Kristina Denny and Daniel Sink, both of Lawrence, were married March 20, 2004, at Danforth Chapel in Lawrence with the Rev. Waylon Ingle officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Judy Denny, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Wayne Sink, Mound City, and Patricia Jensen, Ottawa.

Maid of honor was Jennifer Denny. Best man was William Hedrick. Flower girl was Cheyenne Bishop. Ring bearer was Jesse Lana. Ushers were Jason Finks and David Wilhite.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is pursuing a degree in social work at Johnson County Community College. She works at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.

The groom is a 1998 Ottawa High School graduate. He plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Washburn University. He is a corrections officer at Douglas County Youth Services.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Yoder-Shear

Jennifer Yoder and Benjamin Shear, both of Lawrence, were married Dec. 20, 2003, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church with the Rev. George Boomer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Douglas and Denise Yoder, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Rick and Rachel Shear, Greenbrier, Tenn., and Elizabeth and Kent Johnson, Overland Park.

Maid of honor was Elizabeth Yoder. Best man was Jordan Shear. Bridesmaids were Amy Long, Cara Fuhrmann, Lydia Windhauser and Katie Guyer. Junior bridesmaid was Cheyenne Weikel. Groomsmen were Brett Haynes, Jay Gray, Adam Stiller and Jason Holborow. Flower girl was Madisyn Shear. Ring bearer was Benjamin Boomer. Candle lighters were Cierra Weikel and Kaitlyn Weikel. Ushers were Nicholas Allen, Joshua Goeke and Jacob Hodges.

A reception was given at the Lawrence Holidome.

The bride is a 2001 Lawrence High School graduate. She is pursuing a degree in early childhood special education at Kansas University. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. He is pursuing a degree in English at KU.
