Frances Evelyn Custer

Des Moines, Iowa ? Services for Frances Evelyn Custer, 84, Phoenix, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be in Squire Boone Cemetery near Boone.

Mrs. Custer died Friday, April 30, 2004, at her home of a stroke.

She was born June 10, 1919, in Hedrick. She moved to Des Moines in 1940. She moved to Phoenix in 2002.

Mrs. Custer was a homemaker and worked for Fox Printing Co. in Des Moines. After she retired, she traveled with the Credit Union and participated in programs provided by the Association for the Blind and a senior center in Phoenix.

She married Jay Wayne Custer in 1940. He died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, E.R. Glaese, Moses Lake, Wash., and Phoenix, and Nina Van Dyke, Phoenix; a son, Robert Custer, Lawrence, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday evening at the funeral home.
