Services for Emily Taylor, the former dean of women at Kansas University, are scheduled for 2 p.m. May 16 at the Lied Center.

Taylor, who was 89, died Saturday.

Hidden camera reported in woman’s bathroom

Police believe a 34-year-old Lawrence man may have videotaped an 18-year-old woman in “various stages of undress” in the bathroom of her west Lawrence home, according to a report released Monday.

The taping allegedly occurred on four occasions between April 17 and April 26, said Sgt. Mike Pattrick, a Lawrence Police spokesman. Because of the nature of the report, Pattrick would not comment on the relationship between the victim and suspect.

A third party discovered the videotaping and reported it to police, Pattrick said. The department is forwarding a report to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.

6News to air early because of baseball game

The regularly scheduled 6 p.m. newscast for Sunflower Broadband 6News will air at 5:30 tonight because of the start time of the Kansas City Royals game. Royals Sports Television Network’s coverage of the Royals-Toronto Blue Jays game begins at 6 p.m.

Police arrest suspect in robbery with toy gun

A Lawrence man has been charged with aggravated robbery after an incident early Sunday at Pyramid Pizza, 701 W. Ninth St. Police say it appeared he robbed the store with a plastic toy gun.

Two employees were in the store at 12:27 a.m. when a man walked in with a cloth over his face, showed the gun, demanded money from the register and left with $176, according to a report. Police who responded saw Rudus Black, 28, in a nearby parking lot, and he turned to walk away when officers approached him, said Sgt. Mike Pattrick, a Lawrence Police spokesman.

Police found the cash on Black and later recovered a plastic toy gun from a trash can in the alleyway of the 900 block of Illinois Street, Pattrick said. According to a report, officers believed Black to be under the influence of alcohol.

He was charged Monday in Douglas County District Court and remained in the Douglas County Jail with bond set at $40,000.
