Roxie L. Heard Stratton

Mrs. Stratton died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Hickory Pointe Nursing Center in Oskaloosa.

She was born June 27, 1922, in Branch, Mo., the daughter of William and Myrtle Mae Bonner. She lived most of her adult life near Windsor, Mo. She moved to Tonganoxie in 1988. She later moved to Oskaloosa and had lived at Hickory Pointe Nursing Center since March 2000.

Mrs. Stratton was a food service supervisor at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo., for several years.

She married Bryant Heard in 1940 and Harper Stratton in 1957. Both died earlier.

Survivors include a son, William B. Heard Sr., Oskaloosa; a stepdaughter, Violet Patton, Windsor; a stepson, Kenneth Stratton, Phoenix; a sister, Betty Ganote, Joplin, Mo.; two grandsons; three stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
